Atomic Age

In this atomic age
knowledge is increasing, technology is
blooming, and morality is dying. Men have conquered space,
smashed the atom, built skyscrapers, flew tons in space, and walked on
the moon.
But man has failed to conquer self, to smash habits, to build
self confidence, to reduce crime and to elevate the moral of man to be
accepted by God.
Hundreds of space ships have
left the earth carrying instruments to measure temperature, pressure,
sound waves, and radiation. Space ships carried men to study the earth,
the moon, the stars, and other assignments.
The 20th century is named as
the atomic age. Man was able to smash the atoms in the reactors to
generate electricity; and to run aircraft carriers, ships, and
submarines. Isotopes of different kinds of atoms, have been used in many
fields of science. Radiation is being used effectively in many fields
especially in the field of Medicine.
Man was able to solve a lot
of problems that puzzled the scientist of former ages. He solved the
mystery behind a lot of chemical formulas
that saved the life of a lot of people. The mighty mind of man
was able to build tall buildings rising above the clouds. He built
machines that send it flying in the air carrying tons of goods, people
and instruments.
Man so negligible as he
stands in comparison to the size of the world,
yet his brain is so powerful that he made another brain. He
called it the electronic brain or computer. The computer performs a lot
of things; solve problems, reads, writes,
memorizes and erases, but the
computer cannot solve the problem of sin that faces man. Surely
the computer cannot erase the sin of man.
Yes,
nobody can deny the advancement of science and the blooming of
technology. All the
advancements and discoveries in technology, and science failed to help
man morally. Man with all these discoveries failed to conquer self and
was left in spiritual misery.
Man
is found running after his lust, with self as the centre of his life. He
reached the moon but he failed reaching himself.
He conquered the material realm and was miserably defeated in the
spiritual realm. The lust of
the flesh, the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life defeated man.
Great engineers who design great air planes,
ships, space rockets,
super computers, bridges and
tunnels yet are not able to design a successful spiritual life.
These successful engineers are defeated men spiritually. Habits
have ruled over their lives and they cannot design a plan for success,
that will insure them
victory over their sinful habits.
They
succeeded to overcome all the problems to build their superstructure,
but they failed to build their inner structure and to solve the self
problem. They discovered a
lot of chemical formulas to save the life of many people,
but they have not found the formulas to give them forgiveness of
sin, eternal life, or
victory over sinful habits. While science and discoveries are rocketing
over the clouds and up into the moon and the stars,
morality is falling very deep down reaching the flame in the
bottom of the earth.
The
hope of man to conquer will come only when men turn back to God
and accept the only Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord Jesus Christ will save men from sin.
And will give them power over sin if they believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ who died on the cross for their sins.
There is a door opened before men.
This door of hope is to know the Lord Jesus Christ who said
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy
laden, and I will give you
rest." Math 11:28.
Every person burdened with sin,
can by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross,
receive forgiveness of sin.
God
does not lie when He said. "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of his grace." Eph. 1:7. We can receive
the forgiveness of sins, not by advancement of science, nor by our good
works, but by faith as God has said.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works lest any
man should boast." Eph. 2:8,9
What
road are you going to follow? What way are you going to choose? The Lord
Jesus Christ said "... I am the way, the truth
and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me."
John 14: 6. Whom are you going to choose,
this material world or the creator of this world? Did the
advancement of science blind your eyes? Can you still see your need for
the forgiveness of your sins, and the "spiritual birth" or in other
terms the "second birth"? The Lord Jesus
Christ referred to it as being "born again".
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily,
Verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again,
he cannot see the
Do
you want to be born again? Do you want the Lord Jesus to forgive you
your sins? Do you
desire an advancement in your spiritual life?
If you say yes to all these questions what are you doing about
it?
To
receive eternal life you must believe what God has said:
1- You have
sinned.
"For all have sinned, and come short of
the glory of God." Rom. 3:
23
2- The penalty
of sin is death.
"For the wages of sin is death..."
Rom.6:23
3-
Believe on the lord Jesus Christ.
Believe that the only one that can save you is the Lord Jesus
Christ who died and shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Rom. 5: 8.
4- Confess
that Jesus is Lord.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy
mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth
unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation."
Finally pray and ask believing you will receive.
So bow your head and close your eyes and pray this prayer.
Lord
I confess that I am a sinner , forgive me my sin by the redemption you
made for me in your blood. Lord Jesus come into my heart and give me
eternal life as a gift. I
pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
